Thats my question. I have two step-daughters who adore me and I them. We have them half the time and they have seen me at all levels of happiness and depressed. I wonder if I should tell them that I dont act normal at times for a reason? I just worry they will tell their mother who may use it against me or my hubby.

If they were my kids I would have already started the dialog, but I am worried any suggestions???

If it is not causing a problem currently and hasn't in the past, why tempt fate? This will definitely change your relationship with them and they will be constantly looking for signs of change.

When the time comes, god forbid, that you do have an episode, it can be handled then by their father.

Why tempt fate?

Hi, Piglet.

You didn't say how old the stepdaughters are or whether they understand the importance of protecting a confidence. When they are that mature, I'm sure they'll value your honesty and respect your privacy. Until then, I think RedRocket's got the right answer.

You are telling them every minute you are with them.
