My husband and son have talked with me about several things that I've done when I've been manic that I do not remember doing. I actually don't believe them at first because I think they're just teasing me and exaggerating. Sometimes I can vaguely remember, but other times I have absolutely no recollection of these actions. Does this mean I was psychotic at those times? It scares me that I cannot remember some pretty significant behaviors when I've been manic. It's like they're talking about a totally different person. Does this happen to anyone else? |

I have had that happen to me a couple times. Not all the time but its happened. I have also often thought that people are making this up to make me feel more crazy or they prolly want to push me over the edge so that i will go squirrley
But yes this has happened to me before
Life & Death Energy & Peace If i stopped today. It was fun. Even the terrible pains that burned me & scarred me. My soul is worth it for having been allowed to walk where i've walked. Which was to hell on earth Heaven & earth back again, into, under, far inbetween, through it, in it, far and above it!

Yep, I have done things and not remembered. Scarey, isn't it. A minor thing I did was roll down a car window that stayed stuck, (a power window) Boy friend was giving me proper hell. and asking why did you DO that. I swore up and down, I did not do that, Then it dawned on me, that I DID. Of course, I blamed him for being a jerk. Lynn

I'm wondering if this happens in the child as well as in the adults? |

Probably Southern Mama. I have seen kids faces when in a 'spell' I call them, and they look 'out of it". PS- WELCOME TO THE BOARDS ! Lynn

Thank You Sweet Lynn. I have been here a long time though. My Grandbaby calls me a lurker. I use his computer and am learning it now. Mmmmmm these things are like a walnut shell to crack. Tough as nails at my age. I can't post much but know I am here "lurkin". Thank You as well for your answer to my question. My grandaughter has this bipolar II disorder but with all the reading we be doing, just not sure if that is correct. There's something else going on. Your a nice addition here to this here website. You have yourself a nice Christmas child.
Mama. |

Hi Everyone!
I have just realised that I too have periods of manic amnesia. I know from what people have told me that I have been way of the scale and I really don't remember it. But does anyone else find that it also feeds the paranoia! If I can't remember, then, what have I done. I have to check my mobile every morning to make sure that I haven't called someone and told them exactly what I think (when the grandiose delusions are with me). Even on days when I believe that I am stable I find it difficult to trust myself!
Take care
Phil

Past memory loss is one of my biggest problems. There are so many things my family says I have done, and I don't believe them at first. I hate this feeling. I also had several ECT's, so that made my memory worse, on top of being manic. |
