I am super duper depressed(suicidal thoughts all day) and my PDOC prescribed ZOLOFT 100 MG tablets but instructed 1/2 tab daily then 1 whole tab at some point they will have to tell me. So I'm taking 1/2 tab at a time.
I take Percocet and Morphine for a herniated disc, spinal stenosis and degenerative joint disorder and with with pretty strong arthritis.
I also am diagnosed with Bipolar disorder.
Question:Should I take this ZOLOFT at bedtime or morning?
Note:If taken in the daytime that would be when I take most of my narcotic pain meds, at bedtime I am 6+ hours past my last dose of pain medications.
I guess some advice on WHEN to take it, what to expect from zoloft.
Thank you.
p.s. If this is the wrong Forum pleasse send it to the correct it and let me know, thanks again. |

You're in the right forum, and welcome to my therapy. Good to meet you !
Zoloft, I would take in the morning, as it may interfere with your sleep if you take it at night.
The pain meds, maybe take as needed,
If your Doctor thinks you have Bi Polar Disorder, ( I do)
we are usually given a mood stabilizer, such as Lithium Geodon, among others, and sometimes an (don't let this scare you) anti psychotic, to further help with sleep, and mood. stabilization.
I am sorry you are having daily suicidal thoughts, and pray you don't ever carry them out.
I'm allergic to suicide, honestly, it is a long term solution to a short term problem.
I have felt this way also, and went straight to the hospital.
Was given a check up and offered therapy.
It helped.
My meds help. and knowing when to reach out for help helps alot.
I'm on alot of medicine Lithium Paxil, clonazepam propranalol, Seroquel. of course well meaning friends and family try to talk me out of taking my meds, I don't listen to them.
I know how I feel, and only if I become severely upset will I consider a med change.
We have a social forum that is nice to visit.
and a Bi Polar section for more info on this condition.
I hope you enjoy your time here, Everyone is fantastic !
Lynn all the best ! to you !
Note to self: ask God what His plans are, for me, for the day. . |

Last night the ZOLOFT caused gigantic heart palpitations and what seemed to be a high pulse, at least 100-120 beats per minute. I couldn't 'fall to sleep' for nearly 2 hours so I guess I'll start taking Zoloft in the Morning instead?
Didn't mention before but I also take.
BIPOLAR, PANIC DISORDER & DEPRESSION
Hydroxyzine Lithium Seroquel Ambien(Zolpidem) Tegretol (Carbamazepine) Klonopin ( clonazepam ) Ativan (Lorazepam)
PHYSICAL ILLNESS
ProAir Inhaler (Albuterol) Lyrica Prilosec Reglan Mobic
PAIN MEDICATIONS ( I have MANY spine issues )
Ms-Contin (Morphine Sulfate) Percocet Phernergan ZANAFLEX (TIZANIDE)
