I have been on Cymbalta for about 4 years. I can no longer afford the co-pay, so my doctor just prescribed Prozac (generic). I took Prozac before going on Cymbalta, and the Cymbalta was prescribed at the time to help control sciatica and upper-back muscular pain. I have read the posts about folks going off Cymbalta, and frankly, I am pretty scared. The switch for me will be in about 4 days. The doctor prescribed 60 mg of Prozac, since I was on 60 mg of Cymbalta. Has anyone gone through this change, and if so, what were the consequences? My mother passed away last week, and I am now caring for my 54 year old brother who is mentally challenged. Also, my husband will be working away from home during this med-transition period, and I want to be prepared. The doctor said there should be no difference, but what I've read about Cymbalta detox frankly has me scared to death. Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
