Most individuals with Bipolar Disorder find it very difficult to detect when they are entering a manic episode.
Worse still, many individuals with Bipolar Disorder stop their medications. Then, as they enter mania, they become more oppositional and refuse all requests to restart their medication (until they are hospitalized).
Every rehospitalization is a tragedy that could have been avoided. Psychiatrists firmly believe that individuals with Bipolar Disorder can learn to spot their "early warning signals" that predict a pending relapse. Once they spot these "early warning signals"; they are in a position to abort the onset of their mania.
The goal of this lecture is to teach you how to diagnose the onset of your mania. You will asked to complete a questionnaire, and then compare your answers to that of our other members.
We will then discuss the personal significance of your answers once you complete this questionnaire.
