Hello All-
I am a new member and wanted to introduce myself. While reading other people's posts, I have felt comforted by the stories of others with similar issues. I was diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder I in 2006 when hospitalized with a major depressive/Manic (how it can be so intertwined sometimes) episode. I feel I have been Bipolar since I was in my early teens (now I am 36) but was treated for Depression with SSRIs for years. we all know what those meds can do to someone with Bipolar Disorder - can I say MANIA!!! I have made a lot of choices in my life that have not been productive for me and I feel my illness has been a direct factor in these decisions. I am currently trying different medications but I still have the fear that the perylizing Depression will return and I am dicouraged each time the med side effects are too much to handle or when they just do not work. I am happy to have found this site and look forward to future discussion.

Hiya Katie!
I know what you mean about the SSRI's. Even with a mood stabilizer, they have made me wacko! (Put me in the hospital a couple of times.) What always frustrates me is that until 5 years ago, no one screened me for Bipolar Disorder! If they had asked any of the right questions YEARS AGO, it would have been obvious. Oh well, got a great pdoc now, am on some good meds, and doing better than I have my entire life. (But as you can see from my other posts, life is NOT perfect---

Hey All-
Thank you for the words of encouragement  . I am still getting used to how the forums work...so bear with me. Any advice on how to navigate to get the best out of these forums would be appreciated.
It helps to know there are others out there willing to listen and offer their time and advice.

| Mood fluctuation is a normal thing but some people have this disorder and they have no control on their mood.Such people have no idea what they done in anger.hoverboard under 100 dollars |
