I have been on Lexapro for a couple months now and for about 3-4 weeks I have been SOOOOOO tired. I have a hard time waking up in the morning, have a hard time finding the motivation to do anything actually. I feel I suffer from a mild form of anxiety and depression but also know I have been down this path before and have come out of it by eating right and going to the gym. The gym was my therapy. I decided to try a different route and it seems to be making me feel worse. I am sick of being tired, so starting today I am going to stop taking it. I am nervous about any side effects I might have. I guess I will just have to find out the hard way. What I do know is, I do NOT like this drug. I can't even tell if it has helped or not, all it has done has made me gain weight from being so fatigued that I cannot even find the energy to go for a walk. not good.

| I completely know what you are going through. I've been on Lexapro for probably 8-9 months and in the past 3 months it's gone completely downhill. I've gained about 30 pounds since starting this prescription and lately I've had no motivation to do ANYTHING. I don't want to get up in the morning, I don't want to go to work, I don't want to exercise, nothing. I'd rather take a bath, lay on the couch, or eat. It's SO sad. I'm thinking of getting off this stuff. It's not worth it. I want my life back! Seriously...I went to the movies the other night in my pajamas!!! I'm the person that used to not even check the mail without makeup on! What has happened to me?!?!? |

Hi all, I am brand new and don't know where to start...Briefly to all who question meds and Lexapro specifically. I am totally off and DONE after 10 LONG months! Use any term you wish, I felt it; sluggish, tired, bloated, in short-chemical lobotomy. I've gained 28 pounds in six months and can't stay awake with over a pot of coffee.
My demographic-middle aged divorced professional with three spunky kids under ten, two dogs, two cats, big mortgage on life.

I also think..I was quite some time after I initially came across The Road Back website that I actually decided I was ready to try tapering off again.
I began mentally preparing myself to begin the taper off of Lexapro during the winter of 2008. I decided to wait until the summer when life would be less stressful for me. In the meantime, I strengthened my nervous system with the supplements as part of the pretaper program.I was confident that I would finally be rid of this medication for good. Over the course of 2 months I tapered off of Lexapro. I was taking 10 mg tablets when I began, and gradually reduced until I got to 2.5 mg.
I feel that the Ultimate Omega 3s are really what saved me as far as the bothersome brain zaps. Now, two months after being rid of the medication I am feeling better than I can remember feeling in a long time. My anxiety is even less than what it was while on the medication and my sleep is much more restful.
