Hello readers,

With my father-in-law coming to visit for this weekend, I'm feeling very apprehensive.

Hi Xtreme,

I guess I'm apprehensive because I tend to regress to little girl or teenage ways of getting attention around him.

Hello Readers,

I'm sad.

I'm struggling with personal issues.

Went to lunch with father-in-law and husband a little while ago. Before any of us ordered, I left and walked home alone.

I felt very uncomfortable at the restaurant being very pre-occupied with my personal issues. So I left. Unfortunately, my leaving was also very uncomfortable.

I am sorry that you are feeling sad. I know what it is like to be sad as I am often sad.

Do you know what is causing you to be sad? Personal issues are also difficult to deal with. I just wanted you to know that I am here and that I care.

Hugs,

Xtreme

Thank you so much, Xtreme,

It heartens me to log on here because I see there are so many people struggling to keep going and doing their best...

Today has been one of those days I feel like giving up.

I just got off the phone with my talk therapist. I am very confused, and trying to start a new leaf by not being overly-dramatic or playing the martyr or the victim...I'm very confused by so many things up in the air and so many possible causes to so many emotions and reactions I've been having.

Often I pretend that I am confused to avoid getting yelled at for mistakes and often I pretend I am confused as a cover for being angry in reality.

It's true--I do feel angry and I do feel scared of people getting angry at me...but I also am truly confused by this huge influx of feelings and reactions and thoughts and circumstances.

I badly want to relate well with my father-in-law, but the main way that he happens to try to connect with people is by kidding them--taunting and saying he is just "having some fun." I'm not lovin' being made fun of, even if his intentions are to connect.

Sorry, but I don't feel like being the butt of jokes today. I do not have a thick skin today. I've been watching this Kermit the Frog video that I posted in Schizophrenia Humor Topics which is helping to level me out somewhat...

EA,
I hope today finds you feeling better. How long is you father-in-law staying. I know what you mean about his brand of humour. My ex-husband was like that. He would do things to "get a rise out of you" and thought it was great fun. I thought it was cruel. Remember he's not there forever. Soon you'll have your house back to yourself.

I feel something like this at the moment.

Unfortunately, when I feel like this and look like this, it is virtually impossible to convey to others that I need and want a friend. It's pretty obvious that this mood face is off-putting to most.

I don't know if I can help it at the moment tho.
