Does anyone do acupuncture? I don't know anything about it-except that I hear it is great for possible stress reduction/relief. Am I in the wrong ballpark here? I have tried massage therapy and it does nothing to ease my anxiety, and I can't take benzo's(Klonopin, Valium..etc...). I am looking for alternative therapies to ease my anxiety. Any suggestions?
Can't say whether or not acupuncture would work for stress. I take it for a frozen shoulder in physiotherapy and it does diddlysquat. I'd say if you have an insurance plan that covers it then heck, its worth a try, and it might even work, so go for it.
I used acupuncture for constipation (it worked if you can believe it) & I gotta tell you that it was the most relaxing 30 minutes of my life. I could barely walk when I got off the table I was so relaxed. It took me about 45 minutes to get back to 100 mph again!
Acupuncture is extremely helpful for stress reduction and psycho-emotional disorders such as anxiety and depression. It is fundamentally different than massage and it works on more than muscular tension - balancing the body on hormonal, neurological, and physical levels.
