After giving much thought, I made the decision to create an account and dip my toe in the proverbial waters here. I'm not certain what is it I am supposed to be saying in this post or what the proper protocol should be. All I do know is that I have been without my medication for several weeks now and am feeling it both in mind and body. This is not because I am refusing treatment, but because I am still in the process of trying to get funding for treatment. I just want the right to live at least semi-comfortably and the fact that I need to struggle with financial hardship and bureaucratic red-tape right now is definitely not doing wonders for my conditions...

Hi Blue Queen,
Welcome to My Therapy. I hope you'll like it here and stay and keep posting. It is too bad that you've been without meds because of bureaucratic red tape. Can your doctor give you samples, or can you go to a family member for help? Maybe even a church could help you. Of course, I wouldn't want you to compromise your privacy. I hope you're able to get help soon.

I appreciate your response and suggestions, Mave. I realize I had written the original post with little information given, mainly due to the fact that I am a bit spooked from being "unchecked" as opposed to being concerned about compromising privacy. :)
My long-time psychiatrist had been very good to me with understanding about financial hardships by providing samples and charging the absolute minimum for the necessary "check-in" visits every three months. Unfortunately, he is now literally across the state from me since I moved and I am no longer under his care. During my final appointment with him, he did what he could for me by providing samples and three-month prescriptions for me to take the free clinic in this city. The samples and the scripts were what I had been "living on" for the past few months and now they are gone.
Family is not an option I have, nor is any area church... unless you count the awesome nuns at the free clinic. At the moment, I am working with the nuns and a social worker to try to get me under some county assistance while my attorney works on appealing my second SSI/Medicaid Denial. I have the wheels in motion and have been... but we all know that government agencies (both big and small) tend to run like molasses in January.
Please, do not take this as me trying to be pessimistic and shoot down the suggestions that were offered. I do value you taking the time to read and respond. When I'm scared, I have this tendency to sound stand-offish...

Thank you, all three of you, for making a lady feel welcome despite my less than graceful vent slippage.

Hi The Blue Queen & Welcome to My Therapy!
Good to have you on board...
It's shameful that anyone should have to "fight" for necessary meds. I am sorry you are stuck in the beaureacratic red tape maze...
Please come back, read other posts, and/ or when you feel ready post yourself.
We hope you will find MT members as a caring, kind and hopefully helpfull support group.

welcome Blue Queen,
good chatting to you yesterday, difficult situation- frustrating when things are going slowly and you're obstructed by the beaurocracy of it all.
The clinic sounds like a blessing for you, hope things can move forward with the social worker maybe after the holiday period.

Hi Blue Queen,
You didn't come across as standoffish at all! At least not to me. You just matter-of-factly stated your circumstances. And as far as venting goes, vent away. That's part of what we're here for! I do hope things get resolved for you soon.

Welcome Blue Queen, I'm fairly new here myself... only a few weeks. I do find it comforting to read how others are battling this illness. They also offer some good advice. I hope you find this too.

Despite the very brief time I have been a part of this community, I am finding myself quite glad I decided to take a chance.
Thank you all, on so many levels for this.
