This book was written by Dr. Lewis Wolpert. the thing I liked about it was the the author could write from a medical viewpoint but also from a personal viewpoint because he has personally experienced severe depression. so many times you read books by people who magically get better and everything is wonderful or by doctors who don't have a clue what depression feels like and can't begin to comprehend what their patients are going through. He goes through diagnosing depression, causes, treatments and even what they do in other cultures. I thought it was a good, readable book. Written for the average person to read. Niney
