My wife suffers with major depression, PTSD and anxiety for 46 years now. We were married January 2014 and our married life has been nothing less of hell. Her depression has done all it could to ensure times were bad. She has never been one to be able to relax and enjoy a week vacation nor even a day off work. From physical abuse, mental abuse and suicidal threats and attempts there has been no joy ride for the newlyweds. In April she signed herself into a hospital where they suggested ECT. With eagerness, my wife said yes. Fast forward, she is doing amazing!! She explains to me how she feels, how her mind is at rest, even colors and sounds are clearer and enjoyable. For the first time in her life she knows what others feel like to look forward to the next day. Her treatments went without a hitch, no memory problems, a slight headache and tired a lot right now but is told some is from the anesthesia. I see my wife smile like I've never seen before. She has 4 more sessions left which are considered maintenance and then she's finished for now. I say she my hero because of what I have seen her endure and pain involved with depression and PTSD, she has survived and is now reaping the benefits of that fight.
