My apologies that Lynda and I haven't made our presence more visible. Lynda, my office manager, does read your postings everyday (Monday to Friday). Earlier this month, Lynda was away to Singapore due to illness in her family.
Largely because of manpower constraints, we have built these Support Communities to run autonomously (with our administrators remaining largely invisible). Let me explain.
We have programmed our Support Communities with ways whereby members can all share in the running of our community.
First, we ask that members take the time to rate everything they read, so that our community can filter out postings rated as "unhelpful".
Second, we have an "Ignore User" button which permits our members to ignore objectionable members.
Third, when we are notified by email about an obnoxious member, we quietly remove that member from our community.
I am delighted that our experiment (in members running their own Support Communities) has been so successful. Natural leaders have emerged and have given our community direction. Everyone has shared their knowledge and their compassion.
Your willingness to help each other is our inspiration. Thank you all for collectively being the administrators of our Support Communities. You are doing a great job!
I am new here, but wanted to thank you for this experiment. I am not sure this will work fo me, but I do appreciate your time. Can you use the data for any quantitative study? it seems like a waste that we cannot be part of some experiment or path of quantitative improvement.
It is difficult for me to learn a language of assessment, to be able to learn that language as to myself, and to be able to see how to apply to myself. It is also difficult (for me) to learn about how that those assessments seem to cross physical, social, mental, emotional and even moral areas of my life that seemed so fused together, but thanks for what you do...and i hope i can stick with it to get rid of some SDBs and my depressive outlook.
My impressions so far.. are overwhelming. I wonder if the assessment forms are to be filled out on every intake or if you recommend less periodic times... i am not sure i have patience or time to do...
