I think it would help if we had input from our administrator or next in line. We are running this site alone! How about a note now and then! With respect.

I agree with Sheerlin. I have made hundreds of posts without having seen a post from a moderator for guidance or just to say, "Hi, we're here for help and questions." There is lack of guidance on this site.

I used to be EmergingArtist and after several hundred posts decided to switch to a new username because the profile was not allowing me to change my options. I need options.

Spring was the name of my niece and God-daughter. She died in her sleep at 34. Thats when I spiraled downward.

Thankyou ladies. I don`t know why our board has none. Oh well. We do seem to manage.

However, it would be a good idea to let all these people know that someone is there! That we are not running the Forum alone! Again, with respect.

I agree a feed back from an adminstrator from time to time is a good idea. I so have grown with all the support from you all.

Sherlin sorry about your niece. That must be very hard for you.

Feedback, great word for it kindle, I wonder if our posts will be read! I guess we will find out! Knowing any advice I may give is ok would be nice, but many have told me I do a good job, thanks to those people. Know what I mean? I`m not a dr. I speak from My experiences, as does everyone here.

Dear Members,

My apologies that Lynda and I haven't made our presence more visible. Lynda, my office manager, does read your postings everyday (Monday to Friday). Earlier this month, Lynda was away to Singapore due to illness in her family.

Largely because of manpower constraints, we have built these Support Communities to run autonomously (with our administrators remaining largely invisible). Let me explain.

We have programmed our Support Communities with ways whereby members can all share in the running of our community.

First, we ask that members take the time to rate everything they read, so that our community can filter out postings rated as "unhelpful".

Second, we have an "Ignore User" button which permits our members to ignore objectionable members.

Third, when we are notified by email about an obnoxious member, we quietly remove that member from our community.

Currently a lot of our time has been spent in developing a free automated personal diary (you can see a demo of this by clicking the "Demo" button at MyTherapy.com). You can see a PowerPoint presentation explaining more about the ideas behind our personal diary project by clicking the "Improve Your Life" button at MyTherapy.com.

All this free programming takes time, and I only have time to program for our communities after work (I am a psychiatrist) and on the weekends.

I am delighted that our experiment (in members running their own Support Communities) has been so successful. Natural leaders have emerged and have given our community direction. Everyone has shared their knowledge and their compassion.

Your willingness to help each other is our inspiration. Thank you all for collectively being the administrators of our Support Communities. You are doing a great job!

Your (invisible) administrator,

Phil Long M.D.

Dr. Long,
Thankyou very much for responding. It is good to know that you and your `people` are here, but invisible.

Okay, Phil, now I have this image of you as a empty suit walking around (because you are the invisible man). LOL!!!
