I was wondering if anyone knew about maximum dosages of Wellbutrin, Effexor and Seroquel. I currently take Wellbutrin 150mg 3x daily Seroquel 100 mg nitely, and Effexor 75 mg x5 daily.
I have been on this dosage for approx. 1 year, but am experiencing deep depression. I do have a therapist who prescribes these meds of course, but until I can meet with them again, wanted to obtain some info.
I looked online and it seems that I am on the maximum dosages, but was wondering if anyone else might have some input.
There has been some discussion about the maximum dose of effexor (I'm not sure if there is a "search" function that you can use to find the posts though--you can click on my name and it will show all the times I posted and some were in those discussions. I take 375 mg a day all at once. I have seen the maximum be stated as low as 225mg and as high as 425 mg (I think). So different monographs say different things. You might want to look at finding it in a pharmacist's drug book (here in Canada it is called CPS) or even just talk to the pharmacist about it--they seem to be quite qualified in these matters. You can also talk to the person prescribing it so ask what their thinking is behind the prescribing.
As for welbutrin I take 150 mg 2 times daily so a little less than you. However, it seems that you need to be re-evaluated if you are feeling depressed again. You are probably at the max of your effexor and your welbutrin but I don't know anything about seroquel. You might have to just add another med into the mix. I know it's no fun but it can be what is necessary. I take six medications in total and I feel pretty good these days. It took some trial and error to get there however. So hang in there okay? keep posting, it is a good way to get stuff out I find.
Hi Chip, Well I have taken Wellbtrin 150 mg, Effexor50mg, and a sleeping pill Klinapin, and axxanes all at the same time and it's not pretty!!!! Sure you will get more depressed! You are taking to much stuff. Wellbutrin works only on one side of the brain to make you a happy camper and speed up your heart. Effexor works both sides of the brain and gives you high blood pressure So Mixing to much of different things will totally confuse your thought, and feels and so on. I can only give you my perspective with the experience I have had. Are you getting blood checks to make sure your kidneys are ok?? Please, ask them to do blood work to make sure your ok. Is seroquel for sleep? If so maybe you may be able to take less than what the therapist said to. When ever you need to know about med's I always call SAVON drug store. They will give you information about what pills can do when take them together like you are. Also, my therapist gave me med's and I found out that the Klinapin for sleep was voiding out the effect of the Effexor. I did not understand why I was feeling more depressed and well SAVON said that there was a little side effect and that was it, the sleeping pill. GO FIGUER!!! Chip I do not know you, but I think may you may get a second opion. Chip you are important, protect yourself and stay safe.

Thanks for your replies, Marymay and Amie. I might be able to up the dosage a little on the effexor a bit, or just have to change meds altogether it seems. I know different meds work differently for everyone. The way I have been feeling, esp. the last 3 days, I am almost at the point of trying to overdose on a mix of muscle relaxers, old Valium, ambient, and a *****tail. But those drugs probably aren't strong enough and instead I'd wake up with a bad hangover or maybe worse. It's the ****s feeling this way, and at 47, for things to change just doesn't seem very realistic.
