My husband is bipolar and started taking Seroquel 150mg and only took 3 days and now he can't walk straight, he can't talk without slurring his words, his mouth is dry and he is very confused. He is not taking anymore of this medication!!! Is this normal? He was taking Zyprexa and is worked ok for him, but was having a stressful time, so the Dr. gave him samples of this Seroquel. How long will it take for 3 days of this medicine to get out of his system?? He starts a new job tomorrow and he can't be all drugged up on this stuff. I'm very worried about him. Thanks, Stef
He just started taking the Seroquel the very day it was given to him. That's what the dr told him to do! Now he is really messed up. He is sleeping now and I keep hoping that it will get out of his system quick. Friday night was the last time he took the Seroquel but it is still affecting him terribly. He has no other conditions except back pain that's been there for a long time. Thanks for replying so fast. Just very worried about him and also starting a new job tomorrow.
Stigmastomper is right, you should immediatelly contact his doctor. i used to be on serquoel, and if i remember right that medication in some forms is time released. If he gets hit that hard, that quick and it is time released, its not a good thing. contact who you can asap.
Thanks guys. I called the pharmacist and they told me to call poison control. They said that he was having every symptom to that drug and it was NOT for him!! Also that it would stay in his system for a couple more days probably, but then he will be fine. He is up from his long nap now and seems to be a little better, so hopefully he will be alright. Thanks for the replies. Also, all weekend he has been eating like a pig!!! So, if he stayed on that drug he would weigh a ton!! Thanks, Stef
Thanks. Do you know where I might could go to talk with other spouses that deal with bipolar spouses? It's really tough some days and have come really close to divorce before, but really don't want that.....
