I don't know if this bothers anyone else, but on two separate occasions I came off of anti-depressants and had horrific withdrawal reactions (one was coming of Paxil, the other Cymbalta). Coming off these drugs should not be taken lightly. One of my Doctors didn't warn me at all of a cold turkey (she was family practice) and this was by far the worst experience. Now under the guidance (term used lightly) of a Phyc. Dr. I came off and tapered off very quickly. He very much down played the withdrawal effect. Shouldn't Dr's be more hands on here? And shouldn't drug companies that know their drug can cause extreme problems be made to have a plan specifically designed for detoxing? Wondering what other peoples thoughts are on this.
