I've been badly overspending badly recently, I have recently acquired a credit card, and with Xmas and lots of other things and I have recently been spending a bit like Bill Gates...well hyperbole, but I reckon I am about £900 in the red and I don't know what I'm going to do. |

It's easy to rack up the cards especially near Christmas.
Note to self: ask God what His plans are, for me, for the day. . |

Hi Jonathan,
I use a credit card for convenience, but never for more than I can comfortable afford. That is to say, I pay it off at the end of each month, so as not to accrue interest charges.
I have very few virtues but when it comes to living within my means I generally succeed!
David

I tend to have the same prolem with overspending, even when I know I don't have the money. It's like a manic high I'm on that I can't stop, no matter how hard I try. The guilt that comes with overspending is unbearable, which makes me feel depressed. I get even more depressed when all that spending sends me deeper in debt. I've never been able to remedy this problem. Any suggestions on how to curb the spending? |

ive lived like a pauper, ive lived like a king...
when i have money, i cant help myself from 'treating' myself and my family to a few nice things, but when i do know that i cannot afford it, i can (mostly) keep it under control..
credit cards are not for everyone, lol!! only the most responsible ppl, like david, can have them..
with our credit card, we've encountered a month or two when the cash flow was severely restricted and we were forced to use the cc.. so now we are maxed out, but it will get better..
when its paid, i would definitely recommend cutting it up if you know you cant resist the temptation..
btw, HI DARBIRD7!!
feel free to post anywhere,, though bipolar general topics, and social forum have much more traffic..

you can work out a payment plan, return or sell items, maybe find away that you can work even a few hours a week. in time you will be suprised at how quickly an hour , or half hour of work adds up. |
