I'm on Geodon 40 mg. If I stop taking it for whatever reason I feel awful, it's as if the world becomes a hostile place for me. Can't stand electronics on. I also start having minor hallucinations. But the side effects are terrible. I suffer from muscular spasms and tremors, I look like I have parkinson's. Anyone experiencing the same? What are other alternative antisychotics with less severe side effects?

Hello to all. I am on a new one called Abilify and they have there own web site. No one should just stop a medication suddenly. You should be weaned off the medication by your doctor. I sugest you ask about the new one. I find it works very well and almost no side affects at all.
I have been searching everywhere for the same answer. My psychiatrist put me on geodone and other things but I weaned myself off of everything except geodone. At night is when my bad thoughts come and when I try to go to sleep I twitch and wake myself up with more bad thoughts. Then I feel the shakes I believe it's cause I lowered my dose to 20mg a night. I also have a hard time with bright lights and too much noise (like electronics) and sometimes loose touch with reality and my cognitive ablities. Last night was so bad I had to take 40mg. I don't know the alternative or how to cure this but I so wish it would be over. It started when I went through a tramatic situation. My doctor refused to diagnose me with pschizophrenia and I no longer have insurance so I am milking my medicine right now and looking online to see if I can get more. If anyone knows an alternative medicine and how to cure this please let me know. Thanks I'm desperate!!!!
but it also could just be bipolar disorder or schizo-affective disorder . were you ever tested for learning disabilities?
you might ask your doctor if risperdone might help you.
im on risperdal and lamatrogene . the combination works well for me.
have you talked with a therapist about the kind of thoughts you get? maybe it is a psychological issue.

but i find the fact you cant stand electronics being on, interseting for alot of reasons could you be more specific. about exactly wich devices bother you? when. and why. what bothers you hows it feel , how does it effect your mind and other body parts.
you are not alone many people have unusual experiences caused by electronic devices. how long has this bneen going on . ? and could you explain in general terms what kinds of experiences you are
having that you or someone else believes are hullucinations . all that hullucination really means alot of tim,es is an exerience not usually shared by others.. i dont mean to down play your suffering , not all im just intersted in what you experience thats all., do
these experiences happen in any specific areas.places, and times a day.
im studying up on unusual experiences caused, or rather induced by electronic devices and labled as mental health issues rather than externally generated eventsd. this is not to say that mental health issues are not present sometimes but rather just to claify that
sometimes hullucinations or other un usual subjectively experienced events not easily experienced or validated by others without very specialized knollegde and electronic equipment.
but the good news is that mental health and other authorties are increasingly becoming educated and more aware of these experiencers when these are caused by external electronic devices, and laws are being written technology developed to prosecute any abuses of
electronic psychoerlectronic technologies, and to provide rep[arations and restititution and treatment to all past and present victems of negligence or maliciuous activitiers involving electronic devices and the human mind and body.
im not suggesting your a victem or anything , just that your are not nuts because you consdider the possibility of electronic devices or fields causing you physical or mental discomfort.
some people can influence machines and huiman tiossue with their minds so it only stands to reason that the reverse could be true.
reasearch these things on the net and read what you will on the schizo-phrenia forum etc forum and you will realize that you are not alone.
let me conclude my remarks by saying that mental illnesses are real, and there probably is a nuero bioplogical basis to your experiences that can be treated with medication. there are more things i would
like to say but i cannot. even were your experiences to be caused by an electronic device or devices. medications are used in certain situations to deal with the effects of such ,or relevent technologies in the event these are abused for malicious purposes.
