I would like to see how my relationship with my mother compares with other peoples'.

when i realized my parents were only human, it made it a lot easier to get over the stuff that did go on in my family. Which isn't serious on the greater scheme of life anyway. my mom and sibling picked on me. Sometimes my dad did too. They still do sometimes but every family has a runt and i assume i was probably not the easiest runt to raise to maturity and beyond

I want to send my mom flowers at work for mother's day. Or have people give her a funny seranade. She lives far away. It would surprise her

gravity gets me down

I haven't decided what I will do on Mother's Day. I have to talk it out and think about it some more. I've cut contact with my mother for about 3 years now. She sends me a newspaper article every once in awhile, it's like she's always trying to teach me something. I feel rather invisible usually around her. She's a librarian and an English Major, French Minor. I think I'm better at writing and speaking French than her. Maybe I am boasting. I think it's my anger talking.

when i tried to commit suicide my mother literally said she's too busy to come and see me.
When i hadn't eaten in three days and my son was about to have his last meal i phoned her and begged her to give me the money she owed me, she hung up.
When i finally had the guts to tell her that my brother had molested me, she said: "what am i supposed to do, he takes care of me"

My mother aint getting nothing from me for any mothers day.
Life is too short to have poisonous ppl in your life, i am much better off without her and my entire scientologist family.

I am unbelievably blessed to have the Mom (and Dad) that I do. I've put them through some wild and crazy things over the years, and they've always dealt with me the best way they knew how.

They have taken my son and me in twice since my divorce (ie, we lived with them), supported me emotionally and financially, and are the most thoughtful and loving parents and grandparents ever.

They have four daughters, 17 years apart in age, so they've been parenting since the 50's. As for family hardships, one sister has clinical depression and made two suicide attempts, one has brittle diabetes and primary progressive MS, one is disabled due to botched back surgery, and I have bipolar, and have made two suicide attempts. And that's just the tip of the iceberg ~ we have a large extended famiy.
