Hi, The main thing I'm dealing with is coming to terms with past abuse and present job challenges.

Hello, Thanks to everybody who did my poll here, and thanks Storm and David for commenting. Storm, you can always come back and finish answering the questions you didn't.
I messed up page 2 of this poll. So page 2 statistics may not be accurate. I went back and tried to arrange the posts so the beige would show up on the gray, and then I messed it up so the beige was on the white, and then it was too late to do the edit.
Take care everybody,

Excellent Poll EA, I took the liberty of changing the beige to blue on your questions on page two. The original beige on white background was invisible on my (and perhaps others') screen. Hope you don't mind. You could change the blue to any other color you wish (as long as members can read it against our white page background). Phil Long M.D. Administrator

This poll really made me aware of all the exstreme stressors I have had in my life, both before and during the times I have been depressed.
I have been physically abused, sexually abused, homeless, lost jobs, struggled madly for years to maintain jobs, and worst of all, in the last three years I have lost the most important person in my life: my Mom.
I then I lost My Grandma and recently my beloved Dog. Also in the last 3 years moved in with and took care of my Mom while she was terminally ill with pancreatic cancer, helped my Grandma when she needed to be moved into a care home in another city and took care of my dog who was increasingly sick and needed pretty much around the clock care over the past year. I realize all that is a lot os stressors on someone who is already really sick. I actually can't believe I've survived all this...especially the last 3 years. ...aqua |

You've got guts Aqua, your guts, and love pulled you through. Bless you ! Storm, (((((hugs))))) David, is playing his cards close to his chest, and that's OK. (you didn't spill your guts, is what I am yammering about Dave. I highlighted the biege (sp) parts to see them. It's a good. Lets see, physical abuse, from my brother just a few times, while he was drinking. (he has a bad temper. but it's ok, no big problems with it. Sexual abuse, from 2 wierd b/f, one was drunk, and of course, I laughed it off, and left. No big problem. Legal separation or divorce, no, but definately separation and break ups of long term relationships, OW! Problems thee. Homelessness, came close, but so far no. Thank God. Jobs I didn't like, well, I was always able to leave them, just walk out. Ala, the Johnny Paycheck song, 'Take this job and shove it" I do feel more stable in a relationship, and find I can hold jobs longer. (touch wood) Taking care of people, I love to do that, I do it a lot, elderly neighbours, my mom etc. I thought aboutgoing into a personal support worker job, but right now, it's out of the question. I do love people and to think, I was once afraid of them, afraid of being emotionally abused, but Paxil has helped me with that problem. Emotional abuse neglect were my two top issues, growing up, I realize now, that my mother did her best, and that she too was is not well. My father, was good, very quiet, but never hurtful. I miss him still. and always will. This has been a good poll EA, You will over come your pain, I am hopeful of that. What type of work are you in EA? Is there anything specific that you don't like about it? What type of work would be your dream job? Mine would be a 4 to 12 shift, or, even midnights to dawn, maybe in a nursing home. My cop brother joked that I should get a job in a funeral parlour applying make-up , not funny. He's a wise cracker, he's the pick of the litter. Our pride and joy. Well, talk to you soon ! Lynn |

Hi Dr. Long, Thank you, I don't mind, I'm glad. I had given this poll a lot of thought while at my usual Starbucks stop. I planned the colors of the fonts. I wanted the beige to represent the more distant past, like it's blended in to the background, and I wanted the black to be for the more recent past, much more visible. I went to college for drawing and painting and did some VisCom classes while there [visual communication], VisCom is something I've become more and more interested in just very recently.
