I'm new to this, and have had Psychosis for 7 years now. I was just recently told by my doc that I had a mild case ( very, very mild) case of depression. So, he put me on LUVOX. And, as the subject suggests, I got anorgasmia, which reeeeeally sucks. Has anyone ever had this problem, and is there a good chance it will disappear within time of stopping the meds? I'm freaking out here.
Thank you for joining our communities. I hope you get to like it here.
Re your problem I think it is true to say that several psychoactive medications, in particular anti depressants can result in a change of sexual ability.
If you didn't have such a problem before taking Luvox there a strong possibility that once your Doctor decides to take you of it, you will return to normal functioning.

I'm no Doctor, I "googled" Luvox to learn of it's possible side effects. May be you should do likewise.
Thank you,David. Your information really did help.
I'm just concerned about my mild case of depression, and if there is even any medication that can both help the negative thinking and fluctuating emotions and not cause anorgasmia. I did actually google it, and LUVOX together with many anti-depressents cause the same reaction. I don't want to get worse, at the same time, I am not 100% comfortable with the outcomes of this type of medication. Has there been any reports of different methods used to cure the symptoms of depression that isn't through taking antidepressents? Thanks so much,
I really think that this is something you need to discuss with your Doctor. The 'My Therapy' communities, have a proven record of providing support. However when it comes to prescribed medication only the prescriber and the patient have a say in such matters.
It would be inappropriate for other members to contemplate involvment in the area of what medicine is best for us as individuals.
