This is a book written by David Burns which I found helpful in identifying coping strategies to deal with depression and anxiety. It is easy reading and Dr. Burns offers clearly defined strategies based on cognitive therapy. The basic premise underlying the book as I understand it is that your thoughts affect how you feel and you can change unhealthy emotions by changing how you think. I have completed the book and am still struggling with my depression and anxiety, but know that there is hope for me....will keep at it. Its probably not for everyone, but do check it out. Got my copy from the local library.
