Paxil vs. Doctor....who killed my bestfriend??

Hey Everyone! I am new to this site/forum, but I wanted to tell everyone my story about my bestfriend.
Her name was Katherine. Katherine was 14 years old, and was turning 15 a month before she committed suicide.
Katherine was an out-going, beautiful and very intellagant young woman. All of the girls at school admired her, and all of the boys wanted to date her. Katherine and I had something in common though. Something that she didnt have with anyone else.
We were both being raped by our step-brother's. I had been raped for 3 years all together.
No one else knew about the secrets that Katherine and I shared.
One summer she had gone to a summer camp outside of our hometown. One day 3 police officers showed up and took her into another room by herself. She had been questioned about her experience with her brother for hours, when almost finished they asked her if there was anyone else that she knew that she going through the same thing or something simalier that may put someone in danger. After going through what she did for hours on end she thought that it was the right thing to do to tell the police officers about my situation.
Well obviously I was the next to be visited. I was in such shock that i denyed the whole thing.
To make a long story short, her brother for some reason was never charged, and neither was mine.
We were both later put on different anti-deppresants ( i was on Zoloft, and she was on Paxil) and continued on the road to recovery.
Katherine was then admitted to the Phyc Ward for 3 months. When she was let back out, 3 months later her father found her hanging from a rope in her closet.

No one had any idea that she was still so depressed and lost. The doctor that she was under at the Phyc. Ward told her parents this.
" Katherine is already gone. There is no more help for her. The only thing you can do now is to do as she asks and to leave her alone."
So thinking that the Phyc. doctor would probably know what she was talking about her parents decided that was what they would do. Thinking that was the only anwser to save their daughter. They would pray every night that an angel would save their lil girl from all her pain and suffering.
Unfortunatly, her parents got what they had wished for. But not exactly. An angel did save their daughter. They took her away forever.

I am very sorry to hear about the suicide death of your friend.

She did not get the care that she needed and deserved. I now believe that like all other job categories, there are good psychiatrists and there are bad psychiatrists.

I also now believe that there are good medications, there are bad medications and sadly, there are deadly medications.

I'm sorry to hear about your loss. Paxil is indeed a deadly medication. Its side effects is detrimental to one's mental health and what's worse is that it also causes birth defects to babies whose moms are taking this medication. If you have compalints againts this certain drug, there are Paxil Lawyers who could help you.

I am so very sorry about what both you and your friend have been through. Awful things were done to the both of you, and unfortunatly it sounds like your friend didn't get the right help even after the abuse was brought to light. I truely hope that you have gotten the help that you need and deserve after all the trauma you have suffered. I hope that you will find the kind of support you need here at mytherapy. I wish you well and hope that your current life is going better and that you have been able to find happiness. Take care of yourself.
